I have made some more cards for the organization that sends cards out to seniors. I tackled this project by sitting with a specific idea and making a number at the same time. I don’t usually do my work this way, but it worked out well. Perhaps doing it this way reflects the mood of the day.

After seeing such lovely work from Crafters using alcohol inks, I decided to purchase some Tim Holtz inks. I have been playing around with Yupo Paper as well as testing the inks on other paper surfaces.
The best is Yupo Paper. However, it is rather pricey if you want to do a lot of projects with alcohol inks. I found that using the back of Hp photo glossy cards (4 x 6 inches) was the next best surface. It has a grittier surface and works well. Here are some samples. Notice I have doodled in the samples with black micro perm pens. The top two are on Hp paper and the bottom one is on Yupo. This little picture was made with Elizabeth Craft Design black outline stickers. Just peel off and color in with any medium. Love doing these .
There are many ways to prepare a stamp for die cutting. One can cut first and then color with inks of your choice. However you can also color in by using foam pads and ink and coloring a whole page before die cutting. This way the colors can smudge all over the place and the dies will cut away all the unnecessary strokes. This set is from Heartfelt Creations. Colors are the new Harmony stamp pads from Crafters Companion.
I wanted to make a fun theme set of coins. I used the giraffe by Stamps by Judith to make these little cute coins. I used Tombow markers and also added gloss Mod Podge to add shine.
Art Trading Coins are such fun to make. Themed coins are a great way to test out new techniques and new stamps that you have added to your collection. These are made with stamps from Crafters Companions.
I have made a set of cards to send to Cards for Hospitalized Children. I hope these will inspire you to do the same. I used Julie Nutting stamps and dies, as well as Stamping Bella and a vairiety ofother brands for embellishments. Please “like “ to show your support for this cause.
